LIC of India has come out with an advertisement for Recruitment of “Direct Sales Executives” for Delhi, Chandigarh, Ludhiana and Jaipur Zonal Offices.

- Recruitment on Contract Basis (3 years)

- JOB REQUIREMENT - It is primarily a Marketing job. The DSEs shall be directly responsible for Procuring New Business, Providing Policy Servicing and related jobs from the areas allotted to them. They shall also carry out any other instructions given to them from time to time. For this purpose considerable movements including tours covering entire area allotted to them are involved.

- Eligibility Conditions:
a) Qualification: Applicant shall possess the Bachelor’s Degree of a University in India established under a statute. Preference may be given to those applicants who possess who possess the Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Marketing /Management. Good working knowledge of English and also one Regional language preferably local language is desirable. Knowledge of soft skills such as Power Point / Word / Excel would be additional advantage.

b) Age: (i) The applicant shall have completed 21 years of age and not more than 35 years of age as on
01.06.2009.

- Remuneration: Direct Sales Executives on engagement will be paid remuneration which will be entirely performance based. An amount of Rs.10000/- per month will be paid only on achieving the minimum business parameters as prescribed in the scheme. In addition to that, Incentives as per rules for performance exceeding the Minimum Business parameters will be paid.

- SELECTION PROCEDURE – Selection will be made on the basis of a written test if necessary, followed by an Interview of
candidates who qualify in the written test. Written Test will be of Objective Type covering Sales aptitude, Test of Reasoning, Numerical Ability and General Knowledge. The date and venue of the written test, if to be conducted, will be communicated to the eligible candidates individually and also posted on the website. Candidates are advised to check the site for this purpose.

HOW TO APPLY
Candidates satisfying the conditions of eligibility as on 01.06.2009, shall submit their Application to the concerned Zonal Office in the format given below which shall be either hand-written in bold capitals or typewritten on foolscap size paper only. ELIGIBILITY

COMPUTER LITERACY - The basic knowledge in operating computer systems in Windows mode, knowledge of MS-Word/Office, Spread Sheets like MS-Excel and Internet & Email familiarity is an essential qualification which a candidate must either possess before joining the bank services or acquire the same within a period of 6 months of joining the bank, in case the candidate is selected for appointment. For this purpose, the candidate is required to submit a certificate in support of this computer related qualification.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

The selection will be on the basis of written test and interview. All eligible candidates will be called for a written examination, which will be both Objective and Descriptive in nature.

DESCRIPTIVE TEST

It will consist of 4 questions out of which the candidates are required to attempt 3 questions only. The test will be of 60 marks (i.e. 20 marks for each question). Time duration for the test will be 45 minutes. However, the test will be only qualifying and the marks obtained therein shall not be reckoned for preparing the merit list. The candidates shall have the option to answer the descriptive test either in English or Hindi or the Official Language of the State. Further, the descriptive paper will be evaluated to the extent of around 5 times the number of vacancies based on the merit ranking of the objective test. The detailed information regarding the Written Examination will be given in the booklet which will be sent to the candidates along with the call letter for the Written Examination.

The candidates have to pass in each of the objective and descriptive test separately and there will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective Tests. Depending on the numbers of vacancies, only those candidates who rank sufficiently high in the Objective Test will be called for interview. Mere eligibility / pass in the written test shall not vest any right on a candidate for being called for Interview. Final selection will be on the basis of ranking accorded after adding the marks obtained in the Objective Tests and Interview. (More Details in Notification)

APPOINTMENT: The candidates selected finally from each State will be appointed within that State/UT in accordance with the norms framed by the bank in this behalf.

PROBATION AND APPROXIMATE TOTAL EMOLUMENTS:

Selected candidates shall be on probation for a period of 6 months after joining the Bank. Approximate total emoluments for graduates at the start of the scale in Clerical Cadre will be Rs.___/- in Metro cities. Other benefits include Medical Aid, LFC and Retirement benefits etc. as per bank's rules.
