Eligibility

Nationality/Citizenship: A candidate must be either (i) a citizen of India (ii) a subject of Nepal (iii) a subject of Bhutan (iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) or (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination/interview conducted by the bank but on final selection the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificates have been issued to him by the Government of India

Educational Qualification (as on the date of application): Degree in any discipline or its equivalent or 55% or more in marks in aggregate in the 10+2 examination of the 10+2+3 pattern or its equivalent

Relaxation for SC/ST/Ex-s/PwD candidates: Degree in any discipline or its equivalent or 45% or more marks in aggregate in the 10+2 examination of the 10+2+3 pattern or its equivalent

Note: All educational qualifications should be from a recognized university/board/central/ state administration. Knowledge of the official language of the state/UT where vacancies are advertised and for which the candidate has applied, to read, write and speak the Official language is essential.

Age: Not below 18 years and not above 28 years as on 01.08.2009

Relaxation in upper age limit

SC/ST – 05 years, PwD – 10 years, OBC – 3 years, Ex-s – 03 years (in addition to usual period of service in the Defence forces subject to a maximum age of 50 years)

Date of written examination: The written examination is tentatively fixed for Sunday, the 29th November, 2009 at the centres indicated below.

Examination centres (tentative): Chandigarh (Punjab, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Chandigarh), Raipur (Chattisgarh), Delhi (Delhi), Panjim (Goa), Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), Bangalore (Karnataka), Mangalore (Karmataka), Hubli (Karnataka), Kochi (Kerala), Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Bhubaneshwar (Orissa), Jaipur (Rajasthan), Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Dehradun (Uttarakhand), Kolkata (West Bengal, Jharkhand and Assam)

Selection Procedure: (a) All eligible candidates will be called for a written examination which will be objective in nature. The objective test consists of (i) Reasoning Ability and Numerical Aptitude (ii) Clerical Aptitude (iii) English Language. (b) Candidates have to pass in each of the Objective and there will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. (c) Depending upon the number of vacancies, only those candidates who rank sufficiently high in the objective test will be called for interview. Mere eligibility/pass in the test shall not vest any right in a candidate for being called for interview. (d) Final selection will be on the basis of the ranking accorded after adding the marks obtained in the Objective Tests and Interview. (e) The detailed information regarding the Written Examination will be given in the ‘Acquaint Yourself’ booklet which will be sent to the candidates along with the call letter for the written examination.

Appointment: The candidates selected finally from each State will be appointed within that State in accordance with the norms framed by the Bank in this behalf.

Probation and approximate total emoluments: Probation is for 6 months. Approximate total emoluments for graduates at the start of the scale in the Clerical Cadre will be Rs. 7,463/- (including DA and HRA). Other benefits include conveyance, Medical aid, LFC and retirement benefits, as per the bank’s rules

Application fee including postal charges (non-refundable)

For SC/ST/PwD/Ex-s: Rs. 50/-, for all others (including OBC): Rs. 200/-

Application fee including postage should be paid in cash at any of the branches of corporation bank to A/c no 0377/CA/01/000695. After payment of requisite fee at Banks branch, the candidates are advised to collect the payment receipt, the particulars there of are to be quoted in the application and the original receipt must be sent along with the print out of the computer generated on line application. Without original receipt, the application will not be considered. The candidate must ensure that on deposit of fee/postal charges, the branch issues him a receipt, which should invariably mention the under mentioned items. (i) Receipt number (TSL number) (ii) branch name (iii) branch code number (iv) date of deposit (v) amount

How to apply: Candidates are required to apply through on-line through website www.corpbank.in. No other means/mode of applications will be accepted.

The guidelines for filling applications are as under

(i) Candidate should have a valid e mail ID.

(ii) Candidates are advised to pay the application fee/postal charges in cash at any of the branches of corporation bank. After payment, the candidate must collect the payment receipt, the particulars there of are to be quoted in the online application form and the original receipt must be sent along with the print out of the computer generated on line application form. The payment should not be made before 18.08.2009 and not after 18.09.2009.

(iii) After applying on-line, the registered candidates should obtain a print out of the computer generated on-line application, sign at the appropriate place and send along with receipt of application fee. Candidates should retain a photocopy of their receipt and the above print out for future reference.

(iv) A recent photograph should be passed on the print-out.

(v) Candidate’s name, online registration number and date of birth should be written on the reverse of application fee payment receipt.

(vi) Print outs of the computer generated online application, complete in all respects should be sent by ordinary post only in a closed envelope super scribed ‘Print out for the post of clerk in corporation bank’, to the following address. For more info Check out www.corpbank.in
