Invites applications from Sports Persons to avail Financial Assistance under Scheme Relating to Talent Search and Training
Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports invites applications from promising eligible sportspersons to avail financial assistance under its scheme relating to Talent search and Training.
Purpose: The assistance can be available for the following purposes:
i) Training and Participation in tournaments abroad.
ii) Training and Participation in in the country.
iii) Purchasing Equipment.
iv) Availing Scientific Support
Amount of Scholarship: Maximum Rs. 5 lakhs
Eligibility: Sportspersons with following achievements shall be eligible to apply:
i) Those who have either qualified or excelled the existing national record.
ii) Gold Medallists of last National Championship.
iii) Medalist of Asian Games/Commonwealth Games/Olympic Games/World Championship in the relevant category, i.e. Senior/Junior/Sub-Junior in Sports disciplines covered under 'Priority' and 'General' category.
iv) For team events assistance will be provided based on an objective assessment of the performance in the National Championships.
Age Limit:
i) Age of the applicant should not exceed 25 years.
ii) For sports like Shooting, Golf, Billiards & Snooker, Chess and Yachting the age limit may be relaxed upto 35 years.
iii) For sports persons winning medals in international events last held , upper age limit may be suitably relaxed.
