Selection Procedure: Selection will be made on the basis of performance in Written Test and Interview. Details of Written Test and Interview are as under:

Written Test: a. Objective Test: The Objective tests consists of (i) Test of Reasoning ability (ii) Test of English Language (iii) Test of Numerical Ability (iv) Test of Clerical Aptitude. There will be negative marks for the wrong answers in the objective test. The candidates shall be required to qualify in the objective test separately. Test of English is qualifying and carries no Weightage in the total marks for the Written Test. The time duration will be 95 minutes and each test will be of 50 questions.
b. Descriptive Test – It will consist of 5 compulsory questions with internal options, to assess knowledge of Socio-Economic Developments and Communication Skills. The descriptive test is only a qualifying test.
c. Candidates have option to answer Descriptive Test paper either in English or Hindi or in the Official Language of the State/Union Territory for which they have applied.
d. Candidates have to pass in each of the Objective & Descriptive Tests separately.
e. Depending upon the number of candidates against the vacancies only those candidates, who rank sufficiently high in the objective test will be called for interview. Mere eligibility/pass in the test shall not vest any right in a candidate for being called for interview.
f. Other detailed information regarding the written examination will be given in the information booklet, which will be made available to the candidates along with the call letter.

Interview: Those short listed candidates in the order of ranking in the written test as per the cut-off marks determined by the Bank shall be called for interview and the decision of the Bank in this regard shall be final. Final selection will be on the basis of the ranking accorded after adding the marks obtained in the Written Test and Interview.

Call Letters for the Written Examination: The date of the Written Test is 24/05/2009 (Sunday). The date of written test will be intimated in the call-letter along with the Centre/Venue for the examination. All eligible candidates will be issued call-letters at the correspondence address given by them in their application, which will be sent by post. Candidates who do not receive call letter by 16/05/2009 should contact in person at the address for the respective Centers given in Annexue ‘A’ along with copy of Application, Registration No.

The candidate should have their Demand Draft ready before applying on-line, as the DD details are required to be entered in the on-line application, without the valid DD details, data will not be registered. Note: The Bank/IBPS would be analyzing the responses of a candidate with other appeared candidates to detect patterns of similarity. On the basis of such an analysis, if it is suspected that the responses have been shared and scores obtained are not genuine/valid, the Bank reserves the right to cancel his/her candidatue.

Appointment: The candidates selected finally from each State will be appointed within that State in accordance with the norms framed by the Bank in this behalf.

Probation and Approximate Total Emoluments: Probation: 6 Months. Approximate total emoluments for graduates at the start of the scale in Clerical Cadre will be Rs. 7.463/- (including DA & HRA). Other benefits include Conveyance, Medical Aid, LFC and Retirement benefits, as per the bank’s rules.
