Dena Bank is the most reputable and well-known commercial bank in India. Its head office is located in Mumbai. Dena Bank was established on 26th of May, 1938. The founder of the bank is Devkaran Nanjee. Initially, Dena bank was known as Devkaran Nanjee Banking Company Ltd. On December 1939, the government of India nationalized Dena bank as a public sector bank along with 13 other commercial banks in India. In addition, the term Company Ltd changed to public Ltd that is now called as Dena Bank.
Dena bank was among the sixth public sector bank, which had been given a loan of amount Rs. 72.3 Crores approved by the World Bank for the development process of the bank. Further, the World Bank also sanctions a loan for the advancement of technological training and expertise to function the services smoothly. With the innovation of latest software technology, Dena bank has maintained its position in the market by implementing its braches and back-end process.
Dena Bank is the most trusted bank in the nationwide. Today, the bank has around 240 branches and 150 ATMs centers throughout the nation. It also provides credit card facility in rural India under the title "DENA KRISHI SAKH PATRA" (DKSP). This was by drive-in ATM counter of Juhu, Mumbai. Dena bank also introduced a Customer rating system, it is process wherein the customer rate the banking services offered by Dena bank to maintain transparency with the customer and for the enhancement of the banking services.
