NTPC Diploma Trainee written test pattern:
The written test consists of two parts i.e. Technical test and Aptitude test.
For Aptitude test, Candidates can go through the study materials available in the market as well as on internet. Books are also available in the market on Aptitude test.
Whiel Technical test depends upon disciplines like Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, C&I .
Part I Technical test : consists of 68 objective type questions
Part II Aptitude TEST : consists of 32 objective type questions
You must answer all the 100 questions in 120 minutes, 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer (negative marking).

ABOUT NATIONAL THERMAL POWER CORPORATION (NTPC)
The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) was established on 1975 in Delhi, India. Its primary goal was to generate electrical power and make it readily available to the developing India. NTPC is a public sector company and has lately grown to become the prime power generation company in India. Forbes Global has ranked the NTPC 317th largest company in the world with a net income of USD 1.7 billion. Currently run by Mr. R.S Sharma the company makes revenue of approximately USD 21.6 billion.
The NTPC currently churns out 30644 MW of electricity from its various stations located in different parts of the country. These stations include 7 gas based stations and 15 coal based stations. The 15 coal stations owned by NTPC are Vindhyachal (Madhya Pradesh), Kobra (Chhattisgarh), Talcher Kaniha (Orissa), Badarpur (Delhi), Sipat-2 (Chattisgarh), Tanda (Uttar Pradesh), Dadri (Uttarpradesh), Farakka (West Bengal), Singrauli (Uttar Pradesh), Ramagundam (Andhra Pradesh), Rihand(Uttar Pradesh), Feroze Gandhi Unchachar (Uttar Pradesh), Simhadri(Andhra Pradesh), Kahalgaon (Bihar). These coal stations collectively generate around 24,395 MW of electricity. Apart from coal the 7 Gas based stations are Faridabad, Rajiv Gandhi Kayamkulam, Janor-Gandhar, Dadri, Kawas, Auraiya, Anta. Each of the stations is highly efficient.
The NTCP is also looking forward for a Greener future and expects to produce 1000MW from Renewable Energy Sources by 2017. NTCP’s growth strategy includes joint ventures, green field projects, etc. Analysts say that out of every four houses one house is lit by NTCP. The NTCP accounts for almost 30% of India’s Electrical power. The company now aims to generating 50000 MW by 2012 followed by 75000 MW by 2017. In the recent years the NTCP has shifted its focus to North Eastern India Hydel projects and aims in generating 3000 MW. The NTPC is also investing heavily in Hydro Based Power Projects like, Loharinag Pala (Uttarakhand), Koldam (Himachal Pradesh) and Tapovan Vishnugad (Uttarakhand).
