In the year 1865 Allahabad Aank was founded by some foreigners and in the year 1969 it was nationalised along with other bankS and later on United Industrial Bank Ltd was merged with it. Allahabad Bank grew rapidly and opened branches all over the country. Recently it has opened it's first overseas branch in Hong Kong. Right now it has more than 2260 branches spread all over India.

Selection Procedure : Candidates have to appear for written test and interview conducted by the bank

Written test consists of  Objective test and Descriptive test.

Merit list would be decided on the basis of marks obtained in the Objective paper and the Interview.

About Allahbad Bank:
Allahbad bank is known as one of the oldest Joint Stock bank of the Country. It was founded on 24th April 1865 by group of Europeans at Allahbad. Now the bank has it’s headquarter in Calcutta. P&O Banking Group bought all shares at the price of Rs.436 per share. In 1923, Head office of the bank shifted to Calcutta for business considerations.

It took more than 40 years for bank to claim the deposit of Rs.119 crores. In 1969, Allahbad Bank became nationalized along with 13 other branches. In 1991, instituted AllBank Finance Ltd, a whole own subsidiary for merchant banking. In the year of 2002, the bank presented 10 crore shares through Initial Public Offer (IPO) with a face value of Rs.10 per share.

By declaring shares of the company, bank reduced Government Shareholding to 71%.  In the time of 3 years, company managed to announce Public Offer (FPO) of 10 crore equity shares each with a face value of Rs.10 and thus reducing Government Shareholding to 55%.

In the year of 2006, in the month of June, bank Transcended beyond national boundary. The bank qualified them to that extent to open the Representative Office at Shenzen, China. Within two months in August bank rolled out first branch under CBS. The graph of Allahbad bank didn’t stop growing after the year of 2006. The bank has achieved many benchmarks till date.

In the year of 2007 in first quarter, bank opened their first overseas branch at Hong Kong. At the end of the financial year in 2007, bank’s business crossed 100,000 crore mark. Till date bank has 2260 branches across India. Bank offers all the facilities like eBanking, savings, loans, etc. EBankWorks team of TCS manages all the internet banking. The chairman and managing director of the Allahbad Bank is Mr. K.R.Kamath.
