ISRO Recruitment of Research Scientist in India- WRIS Project March 2010

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)

1) Research Scientist : 19 posts (Software Development – Programming/ Application Development & Value added products/ Database Organiation), Tenure – Three years duration,
Qualification : M. Tech. (CSE/ Electronics/ IT) / BE (CSE/ Electronics/ IT)/ M.Sc. (CS/ Elecronics/ IT/ Applied Mathematics/ Statisitics/ Physics/ Geoinformatics)/ MCA with BCA or B.Sc.with Match background.

2) Research Scientist : 01 post (Hardware and Software Maintenance),
Qualification : BE (Computer Science/ ECE/ IT)

3) Research Scientist : 12 posts (Satellite Data Processing and GIS Database Design),
Qualification : ME/ M. Tech. (OR)/ M.Sc. (Geology/ Environmental Science/ Geography/ Forestry/ Agriculture/ Soils/ Geoinformatics/ Remote Sensing)

4) Research Scientist : 04 posts (Water Resources/ Hydrology/ Data Management & Modelling and Decision Support System),

Qualification : Ph.D. or ME/ M. Tech. with 2 years relevant experience in Hydrology/ Water Resources/ Physics/ Environmental Science/ Atmospheric Science/ Meteorolgy/ Agriculture Physics/ Geology/ Geography/ Soils/ Computer Science

Pay Scale : Rs.8000-13500 for BE/ B.Tech./ M.Sc./ MCA/ M.E./ M.Tech. and Rs.10000- 15200 for ME/ M.Tech. with 2 years relevant experience or fresh Ph.Ds.

Age Eligibility: 35 years as on 20/04/2010

With the above mentioned field installations the ISRO apart from conducting its own programs also co-operates with various international space organizations as a part of bilateral and multilateral agreements.

The ISRO conducted India’s first lunar mission in late 2008. This lunar mission was named Chandrayaan-1. The mission included a lunar orbiter and an impactor. The mission was aimed to provide a survey of lunar surface, understand its chemical composition and produce a three dimensional topographical map of the moon.

Indian Space Research Organization

Currently the ISRO is planning for an unmanned mission to Mars. This project has already received an approval of Rs.10 crore from the Government of India. The ISRO expects a launch by 2015 using its GSLV (Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle).
