MAT Exam Pattern: MAT exam pattern consists of two and half hours. The exam has five sections, each section carry 40 marks of multiple-choice objective type questions.
1) Language Comprehension
Total: 40 Questions in 30 minutes
2) Mathematical Skills
Total: 40 Questions in 40 minutes
3) Data Analysis and Sufficiency
Total: 40 Questions in 35 minutes
4) Intelligence and Critical Reasoning
Total: 40 Questions in 30 minutes
5) Indian and Global Environment
Total: 40 Questions in 15 minutes

Management Aptitude Test (MAT) Conducted by AIMA
An apex body of management – All India Management Association, founded in the year 1957 is solely responsible for various management related initiatives and activities wherein Management Development Programmes, Research and Publications, Competitions and Testing Services besides most important distant Management Education. This body was formed with active support from Government of India and Industry to pool management thoughts and vision throughout the country, to facilitate the furtherance of profession of management and to develop national managerial ethos across India. With over 60 local associations and 31000 individual members AIMA is truly proving its worth not only here in India but worldwide and has close links with numerous professional institutions overseas and to name a few are Chartered Institute of Management in United Kingdom, American Management Association, St. Galen University of Switzerland and National Management Organizations in the Asia Pacific Region.
AIMA was also made responsible to select and test candidates for higher studies, recruitment, promotion, etc. MAT – Management Aptitude Test is approved by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India as a National Entrance Test. This examination screens and select the eligible candidates for studies in management conducted by AICTE approved Institutions.
Govt. of India, Ministry of Human Resource and Development has approved MAT as an all India level test in 2003 and made this standardized test compulsory to facilitate Business Schools to screen candidates for admission to postgraduate Management programmes MBA and allied programmes. All B-School - international or national– may make MAT Score base for admissions on the basis of Score Cards issued by AIMA. Generally these institutes put cut-off marks of MAT score as base to admissions in their respective streams, thus enabling candidates to select the discipline as well as institutes easily. MAT has now become online and admission procedures have become simpler on online, thus enabling the aspiring candidates to groom them in a better way.
