WALK-IN-INTERVIEW

ENGAGEMENT OF MARINE ENGINEER ON CONTRACT BASIS

Paradip Port Trust intends to engage Marine Engineer on contract basis on the following terms & conditions:

1) Qualification:

Must hold certificate of competency as MEO (Class-II) issued by Ministry of Shipping, Govt. of India or equivalent qualification recognized by Ministry of Shipping, Govt. of India

OR

Must hold certificate of MEO (Class-IV) issued by Ministry of Shipping, Government of India or equivalent qualification recognized by Ministry of Shipping, Government of India.

OR

Certificate of Inland Marine Engineer issued as per IV Act by any State Government/ MMD/ DG Shipping.

2) Experience:

One year experience for candidates having MEO (Class-II), Three years experience for candidates having MEO (Class-IV) and Five years experience for candidates having IME Certificate of competencies on vessels trading under MS./ River Sea/ IV Acts.

3) Age: 50 years as on 28.02.2011 subject to physical fitness. (Must be medically fit to work on Port Crafts)

4) Emoluments: (a) Consolidated Rs.60,000/- per month in case of candidate having certificate of MEO (Class-II) and Rs.40,000/- per month in case of candidate having certificate of MEO (IV)/ Inland Marine Engineer,  (b) Unfurnished residential accommodation on payment rent, energy and water charges as applicable to Port employees (c)In-house medical treatment of self and family in PPT Hospital.

5) Period of Contract: Initially for 06 (six) months and extendable for more spells of six months each.

Please bring original testimonials in support of age, qualifications & experience along-with attested copies and two passport size photographs. Candidates working in Government/ Semi Government/ Other Major port/ Public Sector Undertaking should bring “No Objection Certificate”.

About Paradip Port Trust 

Paradip is one of the Major Ports of India and late Sri Biju Pattanaik the then Chief Minister of Orissa is the founder father of Paradip Port. Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru the then Prime Minister of India laid the foundation stone of the Port on 3rd January 1962 near the Confluence of river Mahanadi and Bay of Bengal. Government of India took over the management of the Port from the Government of Orissa on 1st June 1965. The Port was opened to Traffic on 12th March 1966. Government of India declared Paradip as the Eighth Major Port of India on 18th April 1966 making it the FIRST MAJOR PORT in the East Coast commissioned after independence.
