The Common Entrance Exam of Design (CEED) is a joint entrance exam for the post graduate programs at Indian Institutes of Technology. The exam is hosted by the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. It is a descriptive test covering a student's logical, creative, common sense, observation and drawing skills.
CEED is conducted by IISc and IITs for use by participating Institutes. The merit list should not be used by any other Institution without prior permission of IIT Bombay. For further information contact GATE Office, IIT Bombay.

The academic system assigns a grade index to students, with 10.0 being the maximum possible index and minimum to pass is 4.0. Also, there are rules requiring a compulsory 80% attendance in classroom courses. For top 1% student of a particular course there is a special grade of AP.
