Railway Recruitment Cell, South East Central Railway, Bilaspur – 495 004, Chhattisgarh invites applications from citizens of India and such other candidates declared eligible by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India to fill up the following posts in Pay Band-1 of  Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay of Rs. 1800 in the Raipur, Bilaspur  and Nagpur Divisions and workshops of  South East Central Railway :

About Indian railway

Indian railway was built and designed by the British and it was introduced to India in 1853, from Mumbai to thane first train was run by British in 16th of April 1853, it was covered 34 kilo-meter distance. In 1895 India had started manufacturing its own locomotive so that each region of India like Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan extend its own railway and network. The Railway Board worked under the guidance of the Department of Commerce and Industry.

After independence in 1947 Indian railway completely owned by central government of India and is superintended by the ministry of railway. Indian rail is fourth largest and busiest rail network in the world. It has 64,015 kilometer of rail track. Indian railway transports 18 million passengers each day. Indian railway has 1crore 6 lakh employees in 2009. Indian railway divided into several zone like east, west, north, central which are further divided into 16th sub-division are central is established in 1951, east central in 2002, east coast in 2003, eastern in 1952, north central in 2003, north eastern in 1952, north western in 2002, northeast frontier in 1958, northern in 1952, south central in 1966, south east central in 2003, south eastern in 1955, south western in 2003, southern in 1951, west central in 2003, western in 1951.

Indian railway made his own locomotive by several companies like Chittaranjan locomotive, BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd) etc. Indian railway starts Suburban rail in metro cities Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, Hyderabad, Ahmadabad, Pune and Lucknow-Kanpur. Mumbai suburban railway further divided into western, central and harbor line. Tata power provides electricity for Mumbai suburban railway. The suburban railway system first operates on 1500v dc now these lines are converted into 25000v ac these train carries 6.94 million passengers per day. Today Indian Railways are planning to give facilities like phone and internet facilities to passenger.
