Applications (8 copies) are invited for the post of Professor-cum-Director in the Institute of Distance Education of the University of Madras.

Essential Qualification:

a. A Ph.D Degree with at least 55% of marks at the Master’s Degree in any discipline in the areas of Humanities, Social Science, Science, Education, Commerce and Management and b. At least 15 years of experience in Teaching and Research of which 5 years experience in Distance Education[Academic and Administrative level].

Note: A relaxation of 5% may be provided from 55% to 50% of the Marks at the Master’s level for SC/ST category. A relaxation of 5% from 55% to 50% of the marks will be provided to the Ph.D Degree holders, who have passed their Master’s degree prior to 19th September 1991.

Tenure: Three years.

Scale of Pay: Rs.37400-67000 plus Grade Pay of Rs.10000

Other Conditions:

1. Age shall not exceed 55 years on the date of notification for the post of Professor-cum-Director, IDE.

2. The University reserves the right to short list the applicants for calling for the interview.

3. The University also reserves the right to fill up the post or to keep the process in abeyance.
