Walk-in-interview for the post of Trainee Pilots

Date: 27th January, 2011

Time: 11.00 A.M. to 2.00 P.M.

Venue: KoPT Head Office, 15, Strand Road, Kolkata – 700 001. Kolkata Port Trust intends to recruit Trainee Pilots at Kolkata Dock System for which candidates in possession of any of the following Certificates of Competency issued by the Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India and willing to join immediately are eligible.

a. Master(FG)

b. 1st Mates(FG)

c. 2nd Mates(FG)

d. B.Sc. Nautical Science

e. Dredge Master-Grade-I

f. Dredge Master-Grade-II

g. Dredge Mate- Grade-I

The candidates will join as “Trainee Pilots” and on successful completion of the prescribed training schedule, they would be adjusted against regular vacancies of “Pilots” in the pay scale of Rs. 29100-54500/- (except for those candidates in possession of Master (FG) certificates or Dredge Master-Grade-1who would directly join at bottom of pay scale of Pilots). The gross salary inclusive of Marine Allowances and overtime after qualifying as pilot is likely to be Rs. 75,000/- approx. In addition to emoluments the incumbents will also be entitled to LTC, Leave Encashment, Gratuity, medical facilities for self and family and coverage under New Pension Scheme. During the training period the incumbents will be paid remuneration as follows:

Certificate of Competency:

1) Master (FG)/ Dredge Master-Grade-I

Remuneration (Rupees): Will join at the bottom ofregular pay scale of Rs.29100-54500/-

Training Period: 23 months

2) 1st Mates(FG)/Dredge Master- Grade-II

Remuneration (Rupees): Monthly consolidated Rs.35,000/-

Training Period: 29 months

3) 2nd Mates(FG)/ B. Sc. Nautical Science/Dredge Mate-Grade-I

Remuneration (Rupees): Rs.30,000/-

Training Period: 44 months including passing out of First Mates (FG) Ltd.

The candidates will have to execute a bond that they would serve the port at least for a period of 5 years on qualifying as a pilot.

Number of vacancies- 14 [UR-7, SC- 2, ST-2 and OBC- 3]

Age- Not exceeding 45 years as on 1.1.2011(relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates).

Mode of application : Application, duly signed by the candidate with detailed bio-data containing name, father’s name, date of birth, permanent address, mobile and residential telephone numbers, address for communication, nationality, whether belonging to SC/ST/OBC/minority community, religion, educational and professional qualification, experience and any other relevant information with two recent passport size photographs should be submitted in sealed envelope superscribed “Walk-in-interview for the post of Trainee Pilots” to the Director, Marine Department, Kolkata Port Trust, 15 Strand Road, Kolkata – 700 001 on or before 27.1.2011. Photocopies of caste, educational and professional qualification certificates should be submitted with the application.

Separate call letters will not be issued for the interview on 27.1.2011.
