Raksha Shakti University is a "police science" university set up by the government of Gujarat state, India. It was inaugurated by chief minister Narendra Modi on 21 July 2010. It offers courses in Diploma in Basic Policing and Bachelor of Police Service. Within a week of its opening, the university was at the center of a controversy when it's founding director, retired Indian Police Service officer Om Prakash Mathur, was indited by the Central Bureau of Investigation for having doctored evidence to remove the name of Gujarat state minister Amit Shah in the evidence of the Sohrabuddin Sheikh murder case.
