Invites Engineers to Join The Indian Navy as Short Service Commissioned Officers in Technical Branches course commencing - January 2012

Applications are invited from unmarried male candidates who fulfill eligibility condition of Nationality as laid down by the Government of India for grant of Short Service Commissioned (SSC) in Technical [Engineering (E) & Electrical (L) Branches of the Indian Navy for course commencing Jan 2012.

Eligiibility : 

Entry Branch/Cadre : 

1) Technical (General Service)

Age Limit: 19 1/2 to 25 years

2) Submarine Cadre (E & L)

Age Limit: 19 1/2 to 25 years

Born Between (both dates inclusive)

02 Jan 1987 to 01 Jul 1992

Educational Qualification: Four years BE/BTECH Engineering Degree qualified with minimum 60% marks in aggregate from a recognised university with one of the following streams:-

Technical Branch (General Service)

a) Engineering (E)

Branch

b) Electrical (L)

Branch

Technical Branch (Submarine Cadre)

c) Engineering Branch (Mechanical)

d) Engineering Branch (Electrical or Electronics or Instrumentation and Control or Telecommunication.

About The Indian Navy

Indian Navy (IN), the world’s fifth largest navy and traces its origin to a maritime force established by the East India Company. The forces have been names as under the Bombay Marine, the Indian Navy, and the Indian Marine. Though, it is well-balanced with three-dimensional force comprises of sophisticated missile-capable warships, aircraft carriers, minesweepers, advanced submarines and the latest aircraft in its inventory.

Indian Navy has a separate Aviation Wing that includes the Naval Air Stations and a Fleet Requirement Unit. The  Navy began imparting training for the establishment of its unit as they cater the training of new entry Sailors, apprentices and boys as well as for specialised training of officers and men in mechanical and electrical engineering, gunnery, communication, navigation, anti-submarine and naval aviation etc,. There are also schools for training in seamanship, physical culture, supply and secretariat duties, etc. and also conduct special training for the same.

The Indian navy has strong build technical machinery and many of its warships are of indigenous design. All the machinery and the technical have been constructed in Indian shipyards. These ships compare well with the ships of similar capability constructed by advanced countries. The Naval forces are maintained and supported by modern dockyard facilities encompassing state-of-the-art technology. At present the Navy has two major naval bases at Mumbai and Visakhapatnam.

With the overall expansion of the Indian Navy, it became the strong field for the growth of the nation. The Indian navy has built its root by designing a comprehensive shipyard for the success of the nation. They have launched innovative ships that compare well with the ships of similar capability constructed by advanced countries. Today, the naval forces are maintained and supported by modern dockyard facilities encompassing state-of-the-art technology. At present, the Navy has two major naval bases at Mumbai and Visakhapatnam.
