UGC NET 2011 Exam Scheme of Test Exam Pattern


UGC NET 2011 Notification 
UGC National Eligibility Test 2011, UGC NET 2011, For Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Lectureship for June-2011


SCHEME AND DATE OF TEST:

The Test will consist of three papers. All the three papers will be held on 26th June 2011 in two separate sessions as under:

Session : First 
Paper : I 
Marks: 100 
1 ¼ Hours (09.30 A.M. to 10.45 A.M.)

Session : First 
Paper : II
Marks : 100 
1 ¼ Hours (10.45 A.M. to 12.00 NOON)

Session : Second
Paper : III 
Marks : 200

2 ½ Hours (01.30 P.M. to 04.00 P.M.)

Paper-I shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. UGC has decided to provide choice to the candidates from the December 2009 UGC-NET onwards. Sixty (60) multiple choice questions of two marks each will be given, out of which the candidate would be required to answer any fifty (50). In the event of the candidate attempting more than fifty questions, the first fifty questions attempted by the candidate would be evaluated.
Paper-II shall consist of questions based on the subject selected by the candidate. Each of these papers will consist of a Test Booklet containing 50 compulsory objective type questions of two marks each. 
The candidate will have to mark the responses for questions of Paper-I and Paper-II on the Optical Mark Reader (OMR) sheet provided along with the Test Booklet. The detailed instructions for filling up the OMR Sheet will be sent to the candidate along with the Admit Card.
Paper-III will consist of only descriptive questions from the subject selected by the candidate. The candidate will be required to attempt questions in the space provided in the Test Booklet. The structure of Paper-III has been revised from June 2010 UGC-NET and is available on the UGC website www.ugc.ac.in.

About UGC (NET Exam)
UGC conducts NET (National Eligibility Test) to determine lectureship eligibility for Indian citizens in order to ensure minimum standard for teaching profession and research. The test id conducted in Humanities, social sciences, forensic science, computer science and applications, Electronic Science and Forensic Science. UGC conducted their first NET exam in the year 1989-90 for the eligibility of both lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship.

UGC conducts NET exam twice a year in the month of June and December. The notification of NET examination is published nationwide circulation of Employment news in the edition of March and September respectively. Result of June NET exam generally declares in the month of October in the same way December Net exam’s result is declare in the month of April. The UGC NET publishes in the employment News are also available on UGC website.

The major science subjects of NET examination are Chemical science, life science, Mathematical science, physical science, Earth Atmospheric Ocean Science is conducted jointly by CSIR (Council of scientific and Industrial Research), New Delhi. The notifications of NET exams are separately issued by CSIR.  UGC has allotted numerous fellowships to the university who qualify the test of Junior Research Fellowship (JRFs) to the candidate. JRFs are awarded to all candidates who come in merit list of NET exam and they qualify for lectureship in the NET. JRFs are also offered to those candidates who deliberately opted for fellowship program in their application form.

Recently UGC has removed the option of Urdu medium of Net exam. If your medium of examination was Urdu then you cannot appear for NET exam. Since UGC, do not provide question paper in Urdu language. The absence of question paper in Urdu language has affected many students as many prestigious universities teach higher education in Urdu language for instance Jamia Hamdard and Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. Those students either have to appear in NET in English language or have to leave the dream of Net Exam.
