UPSC CPF Exam Sample papers with Syllabus & Exam pattern Central Police Forces (CPF) Exam Candidates who wish to apply for UPSC CPF Exam should prepare well and go through the sample papers, books, exam pattern, previous years question papers etc.
UPSC CPF written Exam: The selection process consists of following:
1) Written test of 400 marks
2) Physical Efficiency Tests (PETs)
3) Interview of 200 marks
CPF Exam Pattern: The examination consists of two papers:
Paper I: General Ability and Intelligence
(125 Questions and 250 marks, Duration = 2 hours)
Paper II: Essay, Précis Writing and Comprehension
(13 Questions and 150 marks, Duration = 2 hours)
There is negative marks in paper I and 1/3rd marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
After the written test if you qualify for interview then you have to appear for Physical Efficiency Tests (CPF PET)

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC)
Public servants at highest post are recruited by Government of India through this statutory commission, which is not only an esteemed organization giving hopes to millions of aspiring people across the country but also serves as an examination or evaluation committee for numerous other Government jobs. This Union Public Service Commission came into existence with set up of first Public Service Commission in October, 1926, when with very limited advisory functions this commission could not satisfy hopes of numerous aspiring people and laid further emphasis over formation of Public Service Commissions at the provincial level during British rule. This was possible in 1935 when Federal Public Service Commission started functioning. However, with India getting its independent status and in 1950 with India being declared Republic and formed its own constitution, Federal Public Commission was given a constitutional status and that too as an autonomous body with title given as Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
With its inception UPSC has been assigned various responsibilities and duties as to (1) Recruitment for posts under the Union through fair means of judging aspirants by conducting competitive examinations and interviews (2) Recruitment for posts under the Central Government through fair means of judging aspirants by conducting competitive examinations and interviews (3) Also to advise for the suitability of the officers to an appointment with promotion besides transfer-on-deputation (4) To advise the Government for recruitment of various services and posts by adopting different methods (5) It may also take disciplinary cases related to civil services (6) Besides, various matters of grant of pension, legal expenses which are to be reimbursed etc. miscellaneous nature.
