Candidates must prepare well for the CDS exam as the exam is of All India level exam so the competition is stiff.

CDS Exam Pattern: Let us discuss the examination scheme/pattern. The selection process consists of the following:
1) CDS Written examination
2) SSB Interview
3) Medical test

Examination Pattern for IMA, NA & AFA:
English : 2 Hours, 120 Questions, 100 Marks
General Knowledge : 2 Hours, 120 Questions, 100 Marks
Elementary Mathematics : 2 Hours, 100 Questions, 100 Marks
Total =  6 Hours and 300 Marks and 340 questions

Examination Pattern for OTA:
English : 2 Hours, 120 Questions, 100 Marks
General Knowledge : 2 Hours, 120 Questions, 100 Marks
Total =  4 Hours and 200 Marks and 240 questions

About Indian Army

The Indian Army is one of the biggest and leading armed forces in India.  It main motive is to fight for the well-being and growth of the nation. The Indian army imparts training to the entire Indian citizen who is willing to see their future for the nation benefits. Today, the Indian army holds a special place for the nation. It also provides training and development to all the individuals to fight on land which are comprises of various divisions such as the infantry, the artillery, the armored corps etc.

However, Indian army has five tactical area commands that includes –

The Northern Command headquartered at Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir,
The Western Command headquartered at Chandimandir in Chandigarh,
The Central Command headquartered at Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, the Eastern Command headquartered at Calcutta, and The Southern Command headquartered at Pune in Maharashtra. Each command is headed by a lieutenant general.
The above principals have applied to combat the formations within the scope of these commands. It consists of armored divisions and independent armored brigades, infantry divisions, mountain infantry divisions, independent infantry brigades, airborne/commando brigades, and independent artillery brigades. These units are organized in twelve corps-level formations.

Besides these combat divisions, the support division in the army includes the supply corps, the engineers, the ordinance supply corps, military intelligence and medical staff etc. The primary responsibility of the army is to safeguard the geographical boundaries of the country and to capture enemy territory in the event of a war. The army training includes both offence and defensive operations. In addition to the primary responsibility, the army is also called upon in peace time to aid in relief and rescue operations during natural calamities and for counter insurgency.
