CSIR-Structural Engineering Research Centre (CSIR-SERC), Chennai, is a premier National Laboratory under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. The major areas of R & D thrust of the Centre include Structural Concrete Engineering & Technology, Sustainable Materials and Composites, & Retrofitting/rehabilitation of Structures, Computational Structural Mechanics for Analysis and Design & Software Development, Transmission Line Towers, Metal Structure Behaviour & Fatigue and Fracture, Structural Health Monitoring and Evaluation & Forensic Analysis and Wind Engineering and Earthquake Engineering. The Centre has built up excellent facilities for testing of structures and structural models, and also for mathematical modeling and simulation.
The Centre invites applications from highly qualified and motivated candidates for taking up R&D activities and also for providing engineering services to solve the problems of the industry and the society besides participating in the development of laboratory facilities.

Pay : ` 18750 + Grade Pay of `.6600 in the Pay Band PB-3 `.15600-39100
AGE: Not exceeding 35 years for general category, 38 years for OBC and 40 years for ST /PWD candidates as on the last date for receipt of applications .
How to apply:
Candidates should apply ONLINE. Hard copy of the online application duly signed along with recent passport size photograph, attested copy of matriculation/SSLC as proof of age/ degree/provisional degree certificate copies of mark sheets for all the semesters/years, SC/ST/OBC certificate(s) work experience certificates, testimonials etc. should be sent in a sealed cover superscribed “Application for the post of Scientist Gr.IV(2)” to “ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER, CSIR-STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING RESEARCH CENTRE, CSIR CAMPUS, POST BAG NO.8287, TTTI TARAMANI P.O., CHENNAI 600 113. on or before 25-02-2011.
Candidates should submit with each filled up application a Crossed Demand Draft for `.100/- drawn in favour of I.R.F, SERC payable at Chennai towards application fee. No fee for SC/ST candidates and regular employees of CSIR. Persons with disabilities are also exempted from payment of application fee subject to submission of prescribed medical certificate.
