ICMR Recruitment 2011 Scientist E Jobs Vacancy How to Apply


Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)   

Indian Council of Medical Research is a premier medical research organization dealing with health research in various areas in collaboration with national and international agencies through its 29 Institutes/Centers and a large number field stations situated all over the country with state of the art infrastructural facilities, desires to appoint Scientist-E (Medical) at the following Institute/Centre, in the Pay Band-4 Rs.37400-67000 plus Grade pay of Rs.8700. Selected candidates will be entitled to usual allowances including NPA as admissible as per Government Norms.        

Applications are invited upto 20-4-2011 for the posts of Scientist ‘E’  (Medical) at the following Institute/Centre of ICMR:-

1) National Jalma Institute for Leprosy & Other Mycobacterial Diseases, Agra
2) Vector Control Research Centre, Puducherry
3) Regional Occupational Health Centre, Kolkata under NIOH

AGE:  Not exceeding 50 years.  Relaxable up to 5 years for Government servants and SC/ST/OBC candidates in accordance with the instructions issued by the Department of Personnel and Training from time to time in this regard. 

General Relaxation Clause:  Age, qualification and experience will be relaxable in deserving cases as mentioned in the Recruitment Rules of Health Research Scientists Cadre of ICMR, 2007.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi, the apex body in India for the formulation, coordination and promotion of biomedical research, is one of the oldest medical research bodies in the world.
Extramural research is promoted by ICMR by establishing Centres for Advanced Research in different research areas around existing expertise and infrastructure in selected departments of Medical Colleges, Universities and other non-ICMR Research Institutes. The ICMR also funds task force studies which emphasise a time-bound, goal-oriented approach with clearly defined targets, specific time frames, standardized and uniform methodologies, and often a multicentric structure.
