Recruitment of Constables (GD) in BSF, CISF, CRPF and SSB, 2011
The Staff Selection Commission will be making Recruitment
to the post of Constable (GD) in BSF, CISF, CRPF and SSB and the recruitment process will consist of Height Bar, Prescribed Race, Physical Standards Test, Physical Efficiency Test, Written Examination and Medical Examination. Only candidates qualifying in Physical Standards Tests and Physical Efficiency Tests will be called for the Written Examination, scheduled to be held on 5th June, 2011. Based on performance in the Written Examination, candidates will be shortlisted for Medical Examination in a ratio as may be decided by the Commission.

AGE LIMITS 18-23 years as on 01.08.2011. Candidates should not have been born earlier than 02.08.1988 and not later than 31.07.1993.

Total Number of Post: 1257 posts in various states (BSF-240, CISF-880, CRPF-137)
Pay Scale: Rs. 5200-20200 grade pay Rs. 2000
Age Eligibility: 18-23 years as on 01/08/2011
Qualification: 10th pass or Matriculation or High School
3) Constable (General Duty - GD) - Male/ Female in Border Districts
Total Number of Post: 5286 posts in various states (BSF Male -3369, BSF Female - 60, SSB- 1857)
Pay Scale: Rs. 5200-20200 grade pay Rs. 2000
Age Eligibility: 18-23 years as on 01/08/2011
Qualification: 10th pass or Matriculation or High School
Fee Payable:
Rs. 50/- (No fee for Women/ SC/ST/PH and Ex-Servicemen) by means of Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS) or SBI Challan or online payment through account with the State Bank of India.

About Staff Selection Commission
The Government of India, in the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms vide its Resolution No. 46/1(S)/74-Estt.(B) dated the 4th November, 1975 constituted a Commission called the Subordinate Services Commission which has subsequently been re-designated as Staff Selection Commission effective from the 26th September, 1977 to make recruitment to various Class III (now Group “C”) (non-technical) posts in the various Ministries/Departments of the Govt. of India and in Subordinate Offices. The functions of the Staff Selection Commission have been enlarged from time to time and now it carries out the recruitment also to all Group “B” posts in the pay scale of Rs 9300 to 34800 with a grade pay of Rs 42000 The functions of the Staff Selection Commission were redefined by the Government of India, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions vide its Resolution No.39018/1/98-Estt.(B) dated 21st May 1999 (may be seen under the heading Resolution). The new constitution and functions of the Staff Selection Commission came into effect from 1st June 1999.
