The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India or TRAI (established 1997) is the independent regulator established by the Government of India to regulate the telecommunications business in India The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Act, 1997, as amended vide the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Amendment) Act, 2000, specifies that the Authority shall consist of a Chairperson and not more than two whole-time Members and not more than two part-time Members.
