Entrance Exam Pattern: Exam consists of 200 Objective type questions of 200 marks which must be complete in 3 and 1/2 hours time.

Chemistry : 60 Questions and 60 Marks
Biology : 60 Questions and 60 Marks
GK : 20 Questions and 20 Marks

Negative Marking : AIIMS MBS Entrance Exam consists of negative marking of 1/3 for each wrong answer. So you must be very careful while you answer the questions.

About All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS):

All India Institute of Medical Sciences

Basically it is a medical college which also provides medical service to patients. It is one of the most reputed and well known medical colleges in country. It is well known globally for providing low cost medical service to a large portion of society. It was formed in 1956 by an act in parliament as a national institute to implement highest possible standard in medical education. The college has all branches related to medical sciences. In Asia AIIMS is also known as “Harvard of the East”.

It is located in southern part of Delhi and headquarters of Indian Council of Medical Research and National Medical Library lies besides it. New Zealand government provided grant for establishing this college. AIIMS has been ranked at top position in all surveys that were made since 1997. Firstly, it was decided to establish this college in Kolkata, but chief minister of west Bengal Mr. Bidhan Chandra Roy opposed to this proposal and turned down.

In every educational year, AIIMS accepts only 45 students from all over India, out of which 33 belongs to general category, 11 belongs to reserved category and remaining 1 belongs to physically handicapped student. These 45 students are selected from around 80,000 students who give entrance exam and 5 students are selected internationally by Indian government (Only from SAARC countries). Its entrance exam is considered to be one of the most difficult examinations all over India and is conducted on first of July every year.

AIIMS was originally built as Superspeciality hospital. It also spends great part of its budget on research in various medical subjects and developments of new medicines. It is a residential university where students, staff and faculty members live on main or sub campus. AIIMS has gone through many controversies like some babies were died even before completing one year at institutes while checking. Recently, health ministry sacked its director Mr. Venugopal, but Supreme Court intervened and reinstated him on his post.
