About University Grants Commission (UGC)

University Grants Commission (UGC) was settled on 1956 by union government. It was established for maintaining the standard of education.

UGC provides the funds to the some institutes like school and colleges which are owned by the government.
UGC is taking NET examination for the appointment of best qualified teachers, lecturers and professors in the school and colleges. The UGC conducts NET twice a year in the month June and December. The Test includes the Humanities (including languages), Social Sciences, Forensic Science, Environmental Sciences, Computer Science and Applications and Electronic Science. You can know about the dates of the exam in the news papers, magazine like daily curriculum.

The result of the UGC NET is declared on the UGC website and also in the employment News area. The month of declaration UGC NET Exam is mostly October and April.
You can know about the application form notification in the Employment News generally in the months of March and September and is also uploaded on the UGC website. And also you can fill the online form in the internet for UGC NET by sitting at home.

The candidates can easily get the UGC NET old papers through the internet which can be helpful for the candidates. Not only the help of old papers but the candidates can also give practice test for UGC NET on the internet.
A candidate must have minimum of 55% (50% allowed for SC/ST candidates) marks in a postgraduate (Master degree) degree or the equivalent examination in Humanities (including the Languages) and Social Sciences, Computer Applications, Electronic Sciences, etc. The candidates who are doing master degree courses, and the result is on waiting or the exam is delayed, he/she can apply to UGC NET examination.
